River Oaks Mixed Use

This project was commissioned by Stonelake Capital Partners, Beck's client for an office building in Houston, Texas. During the initial meeting with the client, Khang Nguyen, who was a junior designer at the time, listened carefully to their vision for the building. As the client was describing their requirements, Khang quickly sketched a design concept that captured the essence of what they were looking for.

To Khang's surprise, the client (Kenneth) saw the sketch and immediately fell in love with it. He were so impressed that he told everyone in the meeting that they need not look any further, as this was exactly what they wanted. The sketch was able to communicate the idea in a clear and concise manner, and the client was able to envision the final product with ease.

The following images of the project were developed from that very quick sketch. Over time, the project grew and evolved, changing in size and shape, eventually becoming a tower. However, the story of the quick sketch from the very first meeting remained an interesting anecdote and a testament to Khang's ability to capture the essence of a project quickly and effectively.
