Lago Mar Concept
In 2019, Khang was given an opportunity to go to Houston with Tae Kim and Tim Shipley to work on a project for one of Beck's clients, Land Tejas. This project involved a design charrette, which is a collaborative session where a group of designers and stakeholders come together to generate ideas and solutions for a specific design problem.
The specific design problem that Khang, Tae Kim, and Tim Shipley were tasked with was to generate some quick lagoon concepts for Lago Mar. Lago Mar is a master-planned community located in Texas, and the development includes a man-made lagoon that is a central feature of the community. The purpose of the design charrette was to come up with creative and feasible ideas for the lagoon that would make it an attractive and engaging space for the residents of Lago Mar.
During the charrette, Khang and the other designers likely engaged in a collaborative and iterative design process, where they brainstormed ideas, sketched out rough concepts. Here are 3 sketches that Khang produced during the course of the session.
